Whether you are looking to play Madden all night long
without disturbing others in your household, or you are simply looking for a
gaming experience that is more immersive, gaming headsets are an essential
accessory for any hardcore gamer. A
decent headset can cost you anywhere from $50 to a couple hundred dollars. Wireless sets will generally run for about
$130 and high-end sets can go for about $150 and up. Certain features will bring up the price,
such as more comfort, wireless, and better sound quality, but an average
headset with decent sound and utility will not cost you too much. Depending on your budget, you can decide on
which features are most important to you.
No matter which you choose though, having a gaming headset should
enhance your gaming experience.
Headsets can vary a great deal. The most basic of headsets can be a simple
pair of headphones with a separate microphone connected to your PC. Then there are the more elaborate sets with a
wide range of features such as surround sound, USB connectivity, and additional
connector options allowing for use on consoles and personal computers.
Many gaming headsets are designed for use with the PC, but
there are some that can be used for both the PC and gaming consoles. If you get a headset compatible with
Microsoft products, that should allow you to use them for your XBox and PC as
it will likely have a USB connector. Be
sure to know beforehand whether a headset is capable of working with both
consoles and PCs as it can be difficult, if not impossible, to get a PC headset
to work with a gaming console.
Having a headset is also a must in certain situations. If you plan to do any online gaming, being
able to communicate with teammates or even opponents is vital. So check out a few of my recommendations
below and get your game on!
